About the Maker

Hi, my name is Michelle Kirkham of Michelle & Me, a handmade collection of all the things I like to dabble in.
I have always been a maker since I can remember. Painting rocks as a kid, sewing old bits of used clothing into a wardrobe for my dolls, and then flourishing in my school's home economics class.
Fast forwarding into my adult years, I went onto work in a fabric store after high school making display garments and loved generating new project ideas being around all of the different fabrics. When I got married, I altered my own wedding dress, made all of the bridesmaid's dresses and crafted beautiful centerpieces and decor for my church as well as the wedding reception.
Our family had homemade curtains on the windows, our children had handcrafted Halloween costumes, and lots of friends and family received handmade gifts.
My two primary creative focuses have consistently been sewing and beaded jewelry, however I will never pass up an opportunity to delve into learning a new method of craft. You name a craft and I've probably done it (or day dreamed about doing it).
I have done a few in person holiday craft shows, but most of my business is online or word of mouth from friends and family.
Thank you for taking the time to read a bit about me and I hope if you're ever in the market for a special gift, you'll consider my little shop. If you have any questions, suggestions or would like to work together on a custom piece, please reach out through the contact portal- I love a challenge!
